ESRB and Its Role to Parents
The rating agency for video games is called the Entertainment Software Rating Board, or ESRB. They partner with responsible parents who want to limit their kids’ gaming and entertainment experience at acceptable standards. The ESRB is formed to provide information regarding the difference between a game that lets the user feed pet dogs from one that requires chopping the dog into small gory pieces. The board assesses each game based on the degree of violence, sexuality, language, etc. It also evaluates the game’s advertising and packaging.
