The Rating Process
As the game enters the testing phase, during its final development, publishers send responses to an ESRB questionnaire. Publishers likewise send materials related to the game. The video game is then reviewed by three trained ESRB professionals who typically have experience with children. The professionals submit recommended rating category and content descriptors, which are later subjected to deliberation.

Game testing phase
